A few more bits of food for though:
More in regards to Hearth Magick, as said many times before, this being based on old Germanic/Scandinavian pagan beliefs, and with the current ability to craft runestones, I think that bit could be taken a bit further with smaller runestones, with the ability to have the ancestral gods bless them with their strength (strength, constitution), cunning (dexterity, agility), wisdom (perception, intelligence), and courage [or fearlessness] (charisma, psyche). I wouldn't make them a 'permanent effect', perhaps a permanent item, but with a cool-down time per use, granting an hour or two, or more, long bonus to those abilities (perhaps even in those parings

). The runic alphabets do have a good amount of characters, so I wouldn't expect them all to be utiilised, as their aren't that many base attributes, but perhaps make those 'extra' characters of use for combination runes, giving a lesser bonus to two of those those 'gifts' (strength, cunning, etc.), for a perhaps shortened amount of time, but these runes would only be granted to the wisest and most skillful of warriors, and could be of great value and rarity.
Maybe make more use of the larger runestones, that are currently only used as 'signs', have them be able to be used by all the town, granting a longer bonus, as well as higher, with a longer cool down (could make a skill to 'bless' the runestone instead of writing on it, or have both, creators could write in them quotes or sayings or something like that, something more so than just a really heavy bulky message).
I'm still pondering that myself, so I'll probably add on to this as it comes to me.
