edit: Ok, OP, I was a bit shocked to find out myself that names weren't globally unique. However, given the nature of the game (can't delete characters, can't reuse a name on the same account), it's a bit of a necessity. Just cause you became the target of a troll on global chat doesn't change that. What, exactly, were you doing on global chat to become a target, anyway? Trying to be too helpful? Acting like an annoying bitch? If anyone seriously takes global chat seriously, I have my own poster for that:
