Tracking

i was thinking, maybe we can have a more realistic tracking system?

The current tracking system is, we turn on our special eyes, we look around to see if there are any scents (see scents lolwut), then we smell or look at them and then a big arrow pops up telling us the direction to the prepetrator.
Maybe we could have a more realistic tracking system. For example where you can see the footprints of the prepetrator and follow them to their hearth fire.

Yeah, because you really know how tracking actually works IRL, right?

Back in the day, those that knew what they were doing knew how to cover the tracks they might leave as well as anyone trying to figure out which way they went. The system is a nice, working abstraction of what kind of clues tracking actually gives. As it is, it can be damn near impossible to track some people down. There's no need to complicate things further.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Let us reflect upon the good he was able to do during his short time in the hearthlands.
Let us remind ourselves of his bravery and willingness to fight for the safety of his friends!
Let us hope he can surpass his previous achievements in his future lives.

The point of scents are not that you see them but smell them. How else would you implent this into a game... You aren't going to smell your computer, are you?
I think the system of tracking is sweet the way it is. It's easy, yet so unique. Never seen something like this in another game.
Why change it?
Hope you have a great day
