like elephants, for ivory tusks and elephant skin and meat, or horses to ride to travel faster on land, or ox's to pull your carts for you? :) and ant eaters to take the nature role to get rid of ants nests lol, seems fun to have those kind of animals around. :)

This game takes place in Germania. Are there elephants in Germania? No. Shush.

I'll have to agree with painhertz here. The idea of elephants and anteaters in a area with birches and spruces seems very strange. Although, I do believe that different animals would make things interesting.
Animals that would fit would be
    -Badgers
    -Hegehogs
    -Raccoon dogs (tanuki)
    -Wolves
    -Weasels/Minks
    -Moose
    -Crabs?
    -Ducks
On another note, there were wolves, but I don't know why they got rid of them...I thought that it'd be interesting to have them so that you could tame them and turn them into dogs. I figured it'd be useful for quickly hunting smaller animals that advanced players can't be bothered with (such as rabbits), but since there's so few small animals, there couldn't be much gain from it, I suppose. Not to mention, you could probably get rid of an excess of bones by feeding it to them. Too bad something like that probably wouldn't happen.

Wolves were removed as the Devs want a better AI for them and the other animals to.

Hegehogs and snakes might be fun animals much like the rats and frogs but with a chance that these animals could hurt you on pick up.
Ducks again would be fun - chickens on water.

We could talk about lions too. But some research on european lion would do best than just a wiki page. It was extincted in the 10th century at the caucasus, but assuming that we do not have many roman heritages into the game, the germans we see in the game could probably be the ancient age ones.

Although that'd be historically accurate, would mountain lions not be more fitting? I know I've got no facts to back me up on this one, but a mountain lion (or a lynx even) seems more, "woodsy". In any case, what sort of gain would one even get from killing a lion? The idea is interesting, but I don't believe it'd bring anything particularly special to the table.

Lion tooth neckalces, lionmane helmet... Things of the kind. But still, it seems more like africanish stuff.
