That would kinda go in the same direction as what I meant by having an actual ecosystem.

In the eco system your talking about, would it go something like this


"Bear Den" (spawn point)

Bear spawns within 150 tiles of a bear den, only X amount of bears can be spawned a day ? or only 1-2 bears can be alive from that den at one time, and take 2-6 hours to respspawn

Bear den has the damage soak of a Hearth fire, or a little more

Bear Dens Decay in X amount of time, whether that is 1 day or 1 week

Most people wouldnt destory a den, But maybe your enemy doesnt want you to have bear hides
OR maybe your a noob and dont want to get eaten by a bear

Bear dens Tend to spawn near Cave entrances, but still spawn in the forest

Also

Bear Dens have no Hitbox, Due to inconviences that could cause

Also every animal would have their own den
Fox Hole > Chickens nest > Talking Whale Cave ..Ect..

I envisioned it more like X deers will be spawned by the start of a new world. They are usually spawning in herds of y-z. They are mating and having kids at a rate of a. They usually spawn more in area b than c since of course in my vision we got a region based map and some areas will be better for deer and they will procreate faster than in others.

Now it would also be possible to lower the population drastically by hunting deer to much and people doing this would have to be careful not to drive deer extinct or even might do so on purpose to create monopolies. Same goes for animals hunting other animals.

If this were true, deer couldnt despawn,

If deer couldnt despawn,

You could imbreed them into a huge deer farm,,,

And if that was true ^

Wars would wage over deer, because wild deer would be extinct, and no one would have thought about caging them until it was too late

and if all this were true,
