No walls

This has been suggested but heres my two cents on the subject. I think it would be interesting to see the game without any walls whatsoever and instead make houses lockable. If its made so when you build things they are 1 square apart and make the same thing with cliffs then inpenitrable hearthvaults will be a thing of the past. Instead of all that nonesense it will be simple. If you leave scents and they track it theyll be able to ram your house. This is just my idea but im sure alot of people like having walls but this is just my alternative to the current siege mechanics

this is the problem with lockable doors and no walls, they can just ram your house down, which generally destroys everything inside, there are other problems, how would you keep people off of your land? from stealing your crops? going down your mineshaft? there are many problems with this, and you maybe should add on to your idea before you send it out into the frenzy of other ideas. It might work, if you were to add onto it and address the (many) problems that were simply left out.

just my 2 cents on it

I'd rather see them turn brickbashing back on. It'd at least fix the hearth vault and increase character turn over decreasing the number of vandal and murder alts. (Who am I kidding... it only takes a couple of days to make a vandal alt and under a week to make a murder alt...)

Plow and go Full Change, Peace, and Civ, turn on your pearl bot and eat a troll skull, and I'll bet you'll see a Murderalt in 5 days tops. Perhaps there needs to be something else added to the equation to at least slow that down.

You don't even need a troll skull to do it. That just makes it easiear.

Bringing back brick bashing is a terrible, terrible idea. Wake up one morning to see literally everything you've made gone simply because someone has higher str than you. Nothing is sacred.

Edit: One would argue the same about palisades but BW is the current fix for that. With bw bashing returning it removes that safety net completely and with the current state of the game that would break a lot of things.

The idea is if they steal things like crops they wont have a brickwall to hide behind. If a character with high str steals ore itll leave scents which will in turn be tracked to his house and rammed. But i could see problems like someone making a vandal alt and destroying a whole field.

Correction, it takes a couple of days to makes several vandalism alts. And they might as well be kill bait alts as well since if you summon kill them, someone can use that scent to kill you in return since there are no wall to protect you. And for note it takes several months for a decent size cheese farm with a good quality village to make a brick basher. While it may be tempting to go on a rampage with it, keep in mind that one false move means you lose a few months of worth of progress (assuming you full trad). However, it's mostly the problem that there is no defense past the walls moreso than walls.

Now that just doesn't sound right to me. A few months is enough for a large faction to make a bbasher from scratch, let alone recover from losing top 25% of the strength score. And it's not completely true to say that it's actually lost, thanks to einher.
