Aging and death

Postby dageir » Sun Apr 29, 2012 8:12 am

I posted in wrong section so I give it a go here:
What about actually having some stats decline and some incline with age. As you get older you get slower and cant move around so much. You get weaker. You get wiser perhaps. In the end you are confined to the spruce bed and finally die.

I am aware that game play might get a bit boring in the end. How much LP that is transfered to the next generation depends on how old the char gets. If you die of old age perhaps 80% could be transfered. If you die on day one very little will be transferred.

The next obvious question would be how long is a hearthlings life? The servers life time varies a bit as it seems. So in some worlds dying from old age might not be an issue at all if a life lasts for 1 in game year.

Any thoughts on this?

Have you ever reached the end?

I agree, though.
People are capable of kindness angels can only dream of, yet can commit sins that put demons to shame.

I support this idea if we age in real life years

but if we aged in real life years then would we start out as babies? that would make surviving on our own in the wilderness quite the challenge!

Yea sure... Then we'll have to wait till we're at least 18 real life years to actually play

+1
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Not such a bad idea. The game needs to be deeper so that it's still fun to play when you're an old man. Right now it wouldn't work.
