Advanced Curio System

Postby Avarice » Thu May 24, 2012 4:02 pm

I was reading some old threads about issues with the current curio system because it promotes people advancing while offline.

My suggestion is to allow curios to be immediatly consumed for a very small LP gain, as well as leaving the current system in place for normal study time and large gains.

Choosing to consume them immediatly for " learning inspiration" would add mental fatigue to a bar much as consuming food increase the FEP bar and hunger bar.

When it's full, nothing more can be consumed until time passes while online. (Various activities might reduce it as well, but they wouldn't want to go back to doing mindless things for this purpose, so I think time is a better solution.)

This would give active players an increase to lp earnings and offline players an incentive to play the game more.

While hopefully being a tad more complex for bots, but we all know that botters are gonna bot.

Good idea.

Good idea. This is almost exactly how Salem works....

Even if you aren't on the Salem beta, there's plenty of information here about the game and it's mechanics. The plan is to port many of the updated mechanics back into HnH when Salem is done.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Good to know Magicman, I'm looking forward to playing Salem.

Mainly because I want a fresh start with everyone else, having just started playing h&h recently I'm at a real disadvantage and not very useful to anyone.

I wouldn't say that, I like the online mental fatigue thing.

Come to think about it...

Instead of a new mental fatigue bar, maybe this can put a use to that happy/sad meter...

A very interesting idea. I like it. Doesnt seem to have too much exploitability
