learning and teaching

Postby sholto10 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 1:00 pm

hi. first up i want to apologise if this has been suggested before but i was not really sure what to search for
anyway i was thinking about when you learn new skills you learn them straight away what if instead of that it take a while to learn the skill some would take more time than others e.g. foraging 50 sec (tops) compared to boat building taking 1 hour

also it would introduce 2 new skills : reading and writing (could possibly be separate skills) costing 500 lp teaching it wold cost 1500 lp and requires reading and writing and tales by the hearth

having a teacher teach you will increase the speed you learn at by 10% and a teacher that actually knows the skill will increase your learning speed by 50%

also books. you can write in books with the writing skill and a pen and if you read that while learning a skill and someone with that skill has written in it it increases your learning speed (would be useful for villages (books can only hold a certain amount of skills(cuz u know pages...))

im only writing this because the current system is a bit stange. oh what an interesting ladybug... so thats how you build a house.
P.S. im not shitting on the lp system im trying to expand it

The problem is... BOOKS we have to waste dried hides to make these books. What do you even do with the books? hmmm... Also most people use INK for maps and not for teaching and learning. You are learning how to play and do many other things while You are teaching a friend or someone in real life how to do it.

More systems that encourage friendly player interactions are always welcome. So long as they cannot be abused by botters.

I think books should be curiosities.

Maybe make the learning skill more expensive and it would work.
