What a narrow minded view point you have. We are talking about more than just the game here. We are talking about people who got to know each other over the course of several months and formed a bond of trust and friendship. In a game or not this is a very real thing.
People who truly care about one another don't break that bond over trivial matters because they are bored or whatever other bullshit excuse they come up with. They try to work it out and maintain their friendship.
So to answer your question, yeah, I know it's just a game. To me though, it makes no difference if this happened in real life or in a game. Trust and friendship was destroyed because one person made the decision that he didn't care about that bond any more. The rest of the mindless drones just followed.
