One idea I had to combat night vision was to create a roving curiosity (like a ladybug or dragonfly) that can only appear at night, and is completely invisible. The being, however, gives off a small radius of light around it. Therefore it would only be catchable at night, and would only be discoverable with nightvision off. It would have to be a fairly fantastic curiosity to convince someone to turn off nightvision to find it. Will-o-the-Wisp, maybe. :o

Can't right click it if it doesn't have a hitbox. Also it probably wouldn't be strong enough of a curiosity for anyone top tier to be interested in finding.

As I've stated in every previous post, >>nightvision isn't something they have as a priority<<

I believe all light sources should be permanent and there should be more natural light sources, a light glow from swamps for example. Also lower the darkness of night and remove the brown filter from dusk/dawn.
This has nothing to do with balance of any kind, these changes will just make the game possible to play without Night vision and make the entire game more beautiful.

This topic has been brought up before in the Inner Party. Everyone would love for the ambiance and pretty elements of the game to make a resurgence. We'll see if they do. =)

Wow that's alot of clients.

and a bit off topic, I would love to see a game where cities without walls were actually doable, but still had pvp

The people who showed me this game back in world 3 had a city without a village wall (still plot walls, palisade although some were roundpoles) and it was pretty cool. There was an idol area with a cave mine and they had occasional visitors but all were friendly/unable to bash palisade.

I miss W3

What visibility range?

Me too. Walls mean you never see anyone... in a big mostly-empty world.

As much as I think this can be an enjoyable feature to be added to the game, I have to say that people like me that has not been lucky enough to have nice vision might suffer with it.
After a while of forcing my eyes I would need to drop the game, and it would not be nice to have to play only during day time, or not be able to go into caves.
