I'd prefer the idea to only be applied for blocks and not boards due to how complicated things can get with boards. I think this would be fine especially when trying to build a house or Palisade.

it takes seconds to chop/saw a log...its really just a lazy idea, if you're too lazy to saw/chop a log are you really going to be active enough to maintain whatever you've just built? my opinion is that if you're that lazy you're just adding another claim to get in the way.

Attempting to make a tedious game less tedious is a good thing. Just calling someone lazy when its far more likely that this action is botted on a regular basis is counter-productive.

there are many tedious things in this game, and I'll agree a lot of them should go/change. while building a house the most tedious thing is gathering all the boughs and removing all the stumps, not sawing/chopping logs into boards/blocks. so this idea is more of an "I'm lazy lets change this" idea than a "This is a tedious repetitous event, how about this instead" idea...hope you get what I mean by that last bit.

also if you're using a log in a sign that takes both blocks and boards how do you choose which it becomes? if you have a metal saw you get 6 boards instead of 4, how will the game handle that? what happens if you change your mind about building a house in that location and want to remove the items, do they come out as boards/blocks or do you get logs?

there are way too many issues with an idea like this for the little bit of time it would save...which as I said is small compared to the time spent chopping trees, removing stumps, and gathering boughs.

I think this idea should work for fuel because it makes sense in the game world to chuck a whole log in a fire.

When building, however, it does not make sense. I feel like you should have to process the raw materials.
