No? Because that's definitely not a thing you have to do for it to be an RPG? You don't say!

A role playing game is a game in which you role play something you are not in real life. How many people do you hear bitching about grinding when they play Dungeons and Dragons? 0. Because the game is built around the encounters being fun, and it has nothing to do with grinding stats. Leveling up is just a thing that happens as you progress in the game, gaining stats is not the whole point of the damn game though

actually you're mad at the game, or you wouldn't want it to be so drasticly changed as to make it impossible for those who want to play hard to do so. my only guess is you're getting your ass handed to you by some of those grinders and you don't want to grind to catch up to them.

I never asked you to come back, dipshit. This suggestion doesn't make the game impossible for anyone, let alone people with nothing better to do than grind q400 hemp. At this point, I sort of hope you're trolling. At least then, your utterly fucking moronic posts will make sense.

Your guess was wrong, but good try, I suppose? I've played since mid-w5 and my only death ever was early in w6 at the hands of ainran. I honestly was pretty butthurt about it at the time, until I realized how inexperienced with combat I was, so that incident sparked me learning how to fight in the game. The haven combat system is one of my favorites of all time, it's just plagued by bullshit. Anyone that says skill is more important than stats is just plain off their meds. I also think CDDT is one thing that's really hampering combat as it stands today.

My main reason behind the support of this idea is the fact that I'm burning out on the game considering that plowing 1 square of land and drinking so you can eat a shitload of boiled eggs is actually a thing that people do on purpose, and if I choose not to do it (because it's boring, and it's bullshit), I will be essentially out of the ''competition''. I would like for there to be a more interesting method of gaining stats rather than chewing on ant larva and eating honey buns until I shit out an AGI point.

What is so goddamn bad about that, honestly.

A game with PvP is always gonna be competitive.
A game in pve with economics is gonna have competition in economics.
Humans will always compare themselves to others.

Without a grind for typical games, there wouldn't be a point to the game's lifespan. Barriers in games can be a grind.

If you played the classic games on the SNES and such, you ever wonder why they put in scores and stages where repetitive enemies and puzzles reoccur?

Try playing a game that is socially disconnected and see how long you'll last.

Play final fantasy games without leveling up much by avoiding encounters and see it takes ya.

Also your latest post sound like you are ripping on the game because some no lifers are able to play 48 hours sessions and goes on a extermination spree...

Also these people know the game good enough to get up to 50k lp in 24 hours.
You sound like you had to huddle in a corner to slowly build up resources while they do so in a group.

if you've played that long and only died once then you're not really playing, sounds to me like you're more than likely just hiding in your walls hoping noone bothers you.

if you're burnt out on the game quit. don't support an idea just to ruin it for everyone else. again as I said you don't have to grind! plenty of people play this game as lone hermits on their little plot and get along with their neighbors(who are much stronger and willing to protect them in some instances) because they don't want to do the whole grind thing. if you choose to grind, then grind. if you choose not to grind then stay out of the way and stop hoping to compete.

go back through this thread and read all my posts. look at what I posted and actually think it through. while you may not want to be competetive there are many others that do(most of the people who play actually) and by removing their ability to compete you ruin their will to play.

he sums it up nicely. people are competetive by nature. honestly, whats the point in playing an online game if you don't want to compete with others? go get yourself a game console, a few games and look up some cheats on the internet, that way theres absolutely no competition involved! if you don't want to do that:

Enjoy being the glorious Haven and Hearth Hardcore gaming master race. Some of you people in this fucking forum community belong at Neogaf. At least, then you'd be pissing in an ocean that is already made of piss.

The way Haven is now, is bad. Even the dev's realize that. So eat up this "perfect system" while you fucking can, because eventually if they decide to continue working on this game, the walls are gonna collapse around you, and you dumbfounded dipshits will undoubtedly cry and ask why they ruined, what is apparent to me based on most of your opinions, an already flawless game (in alpha state) with no room for change or improvement.

I've got nothing else to say to you biased, thoughtless fanboys. Ejecting now. Maybe I'll download Hello Kitty island adventure just to spite you. I'd probably have more fun on there than grinding flax for months on end.
