Geography of Interest | World 7

Postby Vaku » Tue Aug 06, 2013 12:14 pm

Here you can find coordinates of interest. They are provided here as a precursor to a political map and are closely tied to the historical accounts found in the thread: Common Knowledge | A History of World 7. This is a resource meant to be at the disposal of budding politicians, valorous tacticians and clever highwaymen.

To assist in developing this directory, please feel free to donate information regarding the topics covered in this thread in as detailed a post as you need. I encourage all of you who have not yet had your location revealed to please do so to engage in the larger narrative at play. Thank you.

The entries are divided into Supergrid(SG) categories. I've taken liberty in naming some areas with greater specificity than others. Within parenthesis, next to the names is the position of the SG in relation to all other known grids. Currently the world is composed of 7x7 known supergrids. I am treating the position titles in parenthesis the same way one might describe a grid location with chess notation. Here is an example chessboard. Bottom-left is where you would find grid, "a1"

Coordinates are taken from the map information in this thread.

Here is a diagram per request to assist with readability: Diagram of the Hearthlands

I daresay some (probably many) factions aren't going to be too keen with you posting their info on here but your prior thread dealt almost exclusively with non-entities so maybe this will as well.

I can understand the concerns some folks may have for what I'm doing, while not a services to the defense via obscurity and ignorance, it is simply consolidating public information.

I just hope that in time, players here can shake away a few of the shackles that prevent them from experiencing this game with the potential that greater knowledge provides.

I raided that single handedly a while ago, I broke in to find their animals starving and the place completely inactive.
They currently have a decaying idol, and a huge hole in their palisade.

You should change that to Rose of Sharon, which is a large korean village in the area. I Won't give their co-ords because no.

Some how I do not think this is a good idea. I know that the place I am in would NOT want to be on that. So, why would someone else (big faction or not). You know what is in your area this is what allows you to avoid those that you can not get along with. Otherwise, stay in your little area and pray no one sees you.

If you do not wish to be on that, just don't let any info go out...
If you appear here some day, its because you and your city failed on that :p

(but if you're not big, or relevant enough, you'll not appear here...probably...)

btw, I guess I'm on the outlands, because its almost empty and with lots of unclaimed caves o:

What's not a good idea about it? They're all going to be found out sooner or later and someone is going to post stuff (and locations) to the forums. This is just an archivist version of it. +1 to the Librarian.

Same map, two different URLS to get to it.

Meh. Create some kind of diagram, if you want it to be enjoyable to read. It's not that hard to do. You could use google excel, as a start.

Am I the only person who ever still uses the old system of identifying supergrids by their relation to the center grid? like N1E2, S2W2? Although that was easier when the central supergrid had a prominent feature (like Constantinople).
