Sleeping under a boat

As an option to slightly increase boat safety if you end up a long way from home when on a boating expedition I'd like to see a sleep option added to boats that are pulled up on land.
It wouldn't need to reduce travel weariness just ensure that someone can't walk by and steal your boat while you sleep without it counting as a theft.

So you convert a boat into a lean-to for a bit? I like it, it's a cute idea and has some gameplay precedence.

Main issue would be what would happen if the boat was taken, to the person sleeping in it? Lean-tos are static structures, while the other container can be taken and leave theft scents, I don't think the bed the player is sleeping in can be taken out (short of when it "falls" out when leanto is destroyed/decays).

Also, I don't think you should be able to sleep under the boat without a bed or bedroll item placed in one of the boat's slots; it should be a price to secure the boat, is you have to sacrifice one of the container slots it has.

My god! Epic idea. (that, or portable leantos you can put boat into)
I often carry my boat to land and log off, so this is like a +9001 from me.

What about recluses like me, that never leave their base? This update would be useless to us!
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

PORTABLE lean-to was what he was asking for arc. PORTABLE being the operative word. not like you should need that considering lean-to already takes maybe 3 minutes to gather branches and set up anyway.

While i find the the idea cute when imageing it - it wouldn't work well in the game

Leanto was mentioned already - another thing would be setting a "portable" pclaim where he sleeps - declaim when moving - that's what i do with my mapping chars (after having build 10+ boats that got taken overnight ;) )

You cant place a boat in a leanto. I tried and it didn't work.

But if anyone suggests this to Loftar he will just scrach his head and say. I wish but the object handeling wont allow for it.

Good idea though.
