I think for the relative permanance that paving a stone tile entails, the speed of the action is quick enough for it.

And I'm someone who actually does still build roads just for the hell of it. Although I often multi-client 2 hearthlings when I construct roads now; the action duration for this is a slight delay which helps find a really good rythym between manually operating both clients. The slowest part of paved roads is gathering of stones themselves (pickaxe helps but that then limits the amount of stones you can carry when you are paving too, so it's a balance there).

But in general I think it's a good delay, considering a paved forest tile will never be a forest tile ever again, without a metric ton of work behind it (grassing, then planting a tree and hoping).
Hearthlings: Marona; Chamberlain (retainer alt), Vincavec (shaman of the Dryad Wells Forest)

I really dont see a problem with the time it take to lay stone. Its fairly paced with the task.
