I want to thank the developers for their efforts. I had fun in the world of hearths, and I've made at least a couple of new friends. Got up to building steel in my first run, which apparently does not always happen. Normally I'd just leave but I feel it's only polite after playing a free game to give my reasons behind giving it up, at least for a world or two.
More or less? The brick wall killed it for me. A requirement for safety for sure, and a measure of your progress certainly, but it says something that between taming animals, building a stone mansion/cellar and finding nodes, the brick wall was unbearably tedious. Worst part is there's no way to adequately store that many bricks except in very obvious piles of unmade cornerposts, which no doubt got me raided when I started actual construction. I don't fault the raiders entirely, they only took or destroyed the brick wall mats, but it was clear I'd never get it finished at that point.
My suggestion is to simply replace bricks with stones, and make it a stone wall. I think stone castle walls would be more aesthetically pleasing and they would certainly be easier to build on the fly without stocking up materials, while still being limited by their requirements of iron and steel.
