Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

temp worlds idea

While playing path of exile, on the 3 month server, i thought to myself, what about doing the same for haven?

For haven, there would essentially be 2 worlds. One permanent world that lasts forever, and a 5 month world. Haven is the type of game that is more fun when starting over in a new world, so I think this is for the best.

-worlds are separate, you can't bring your awesome 99999 strength character to a new world.
-when a world ends, your character, inventory and equipment gets transferred to the permanent world.
-new worlds could have some sort of dangerous or interesting element, or something you can only get in the new world.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

so basically you offer to create a weird and complicated way to make fresh alts for those, who can not into long run
and the only point of all that pain is to make them secure from developed players, but why bother, if it is a short for fun only thing?

Most of what your wrote appears to be gibberish, but what I think you are asking is, "are new worlds there to protect you against developed players" and the answer to that is no.

I've considered this idea too, but my assumption is the player base is too small for it to not affect the permanent world too much.

I wasn't asking, I just assumed that, because in the other case this idea doesn't make sense at all. Whoever wants to feel newby again is already free to start over anytime. But it is a rare thing. What makes early world special is the rush and race, fighting for resources, none of this will matter, when you know the end is near, so it will be just a chaotic battle of naked alts.

A new world is fun, because you start on the same footing as everyone else. It's a whole new world to explore, untainted by civilization. This is the reason that haven spikes in population for the first few weeks of a world.

Yes, if there is only one server. But with your idea you don't start same as everyone else, only as those who wants to start over. You can gather such people together now and start from the beggining on the same old server, if protection from developed players is not an issue, as you said.

I don't know how salem does it, because i don't play salem.
