Stunted Trees

Postby Kenshinoro » Sat Sep 06, 2014 8:41 pm

I made a post in the Bugs section but hasn't been fixed since the post I saw from 5 years ago. idk why you can't chop first stage but its basically a sap, my idea is to just add a destroy option to growing or all trees (for when fallen trees will be stuck in cliffs). should take more stamina than chopping for full trees

no saplings are deliberately to small to chop. have you ever tried chopping a bonsai tree with your an axe this size?

I didn't plant it, http://minus.com/i/K8yPBYdjv1Oi that looks like a horrible spot for a tree. Besides, I can TRY to axe a bonsai tree. I won't chop it as much as I'll just destroy it but that's what I want. not trying to get wood from this thing

You might have to ram that wall.

The tree should still grow from there though, at least to the chopping stage.

From my experience they will eventually grow but can take very long periods of time. I deliberately placed the one below, I knew it would be stunted but I have this symmetrical hang up, lol, and it was better to me than not having one at all.

It was like that for months, and then one day I logged on and it had grown to full size, :D
I don't have a pic of that particular tree as once it had grown it was off centre, lol, so I cut it down and replanted, the exact same thing happened again and it remained in the stunted stage for so long that I'd completely given up on it. Then, about a week ago -

:D - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you but be prepared for a long wait.

(I'm not happy with the positioning of that one either though, look at it's roots! Lol, so it's also coming down for attempt no 3)

not sure if mine would even do that. someone else planted it, then once they found out it was going to stay stunted, they just built a chicken coop in front of it so they couldn't see it. you know how long you had to wait from the day you planted?

I'm sorry no, not exactly. I've gone back and tried to work it out from screenshots and memory, the best I can do is; I planted the first one at some point in early March and I cut it down at some point in June and planted the second which then matured last wk. So, the second one grew quicker, lol, it didn't seem like it. The second one had slightly more room around itself from placing than the first one did, which was closer to the house.

But here is something else that may give you hope, I'm a bit reluctant to say this as no-one ever believes me - :( - but none the less, it is true! lol.

Last world I planted a fir that I accidentally stunted, it was in a row of three tree's and looked quite cute, so, I kept it. It also suddenly grew up one day but, it took well over a year, I was so surprised when I came out of the house and saw it that, for a split second, I thought a troll was standing there even though ofc, that would be impossible, lol.
