Things like why cant I craft said item, whens the world reset, how do I find where I am or why doesn't the beehive give wax. I guess after seeing the same question pop up it could go into the FAQ. Not sure how long this world will be but at least in the next one. If it was in a visible location like the same link as the Rules thread it would also be easy to spot so you wouldn't need to go into a specific sub category of the forum to spot it.

Guess its not such a biggy, was just an idea.

you talk like youve never read the simple question thread whose op lists most of what you said, and those that sab mentioned above for basic ones. you are another good example to see how ppl never read faqs, even when asking for it.

Efficiency doesn't seem to be the priority here, and the community bashes every new idea that's different from what they're used to. Why do you even try, really?

Most of those questions are literally answered in the first post of the Please Ask Simple Questions Here thread and have been for years now, as Tonky said. There are countless threads linking to this same information over and over again as well, most of them stickied.

About that.... I think it would be more helpful to have that nice list in a clear and easy to see spot outside of the HDI section. I imagine not many think to go to page one and just ask a question. Maybe label it "New or have a question? Start here"

Well, there is that "How-To" link up there, and there's the Help! forum with several stickies, a good guide, even if dated, isn't too much out of date... Let's not forget the fairly well maintained wiki (probably because so little info has changed the last few years). How much more help do people need? Some people will read the instructions, other people you have to constantly yell RTFM at all the time. I won't add in "information overload," because that's just normal and if a person is overloaded, that means they are at least looking.

Do we need more? I don't think so. Could it be better organized? Nothing is ever perfect, and our little corner of the net is not even close to average. :)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Yes we do. I already said its not your first thought to go to page one of Please Ask SImple Questions Here. Not many people are going to read through 700+ pages of questions and answers. Personally I think those links should have been left on the How-to option.

Links to guides, the wiki... should all be on one page clear to view not buried in a thread of a subtopic. I don't care if the mods determine if a link is worthy of addition to said page but it should be separate.

one thing for sure, mods here are not babysitters, this place is not a kindergarten nor specifically made for those children who are new to internet forums and need everything on a silver platter.

if you find that you need a certain kind of thread, make one yourself at whatever appropriate place you feel fine with, and a mod would sticky it for you if its fine enough like they have always done so. once its stickied, again nobody else but you would take a look at it and repeat the same questions and the same suggestions over and over and youll be happy that you did all you could.

p.s.
jackard has already made a dedicated thread for links. again, it is stickied in How Do I, so i can imagine nobody take a look at it.

I also have a number of links in the stickied quickstart guide, accessed from the How-To link at the top of every page. If you have a suggestion for this tutorial please post in its thread. It is not set in stone.

I would like to bring something to the attention of anyone willing to listen, about techxnights rampage of hate against Special K cereal, as seen here. I warn you that what you will read may be disturbing to some people who love and adore special k cereal. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=37622
As you can see, techxnights blatant hate for special k cereal is unfounded and should be under greater scrutiny than it is.
All techxnight thinks when he see's special K cereal is hate, and he will do anything to curb special Ks rise to power, and I'm afraid that includes sending anything related to special k to hell, but the cereal has many good points such as being a good source of sugar.
I call on the community to come together to stop this monsters unquenchable prejudice on a clearly delicious cereal.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
