Could not connect to server

This morning, i tried to connect to server, but it doesn't work, I click on Big red bouton "Play" and then, it say it could not connect to server, is the server down?

I have the same problem - can not connect to server, despite of the fact that home page claims that it's up. I have no firewalls, tried from the web page and off client - same reaction - first it says "Could not connect to server", then "Connection timed out: connect"

The server seems to be a wee bit at capacity due to the bandwidth shaper, thingummy issue. You might want to try again in a few minutes. It also keeps booting people unexpectedly lately but in general I find I can get logged back in, in about two minutes.

I keep trying the whole day long, still no result.

Okay, that's an ask-a-dev or your own computer expert question, I'm afraid. I'm sure it's related to the timing out that keeps causing people to drop connection, but how it all works and what to do is best answered by the guy who knows what the server is doing.
