computer trouble

Whenever I play the game, things run really slow, about 2 or 3 frames per second. I thought it might just be lag, but when I tried logging in on a different computer, things worked fine. There's no reason why my computer shouldn't be capable of running this at a normal speed, since it can play other games very easily. Is there anything else that might be making it run slowly?

what os? do you have current manufacturer's video drivers?

Windows XP, and I updated my video driver about a month ago

what kind of other games can you play though, all games are not created equal. and this is a java game using openGL and is online.

My computer runs (for example,) Dragon Age fine (albeit on lower graphics settings.) I've also played other free MMOGs before without problems. I know not all games are equal, so I'm wondering if there are any specific reasons that an online Java game would run slowly while other things work fine.

Can you run MineCraft or other Java games? Have you got the latest version of Java?

why dont you load up runescape @ http://www.runescape.com and try that game and see if your lag. that game requires a good computer to run smooth on the HD setting and is java based with hardware acceleration.

Update: I updated my video card drivers and the problem was fixed.
