Claims and death

When someone dies their hearthfire turns into a regular fire.

The same should also occur to their claim - It should decay after a day or two in game.

The claim is given to the next character the account makes iirc.

Was that sarcasm? :P I was just guessing, but I thought I remember J&L talking about that...

Nope not sarcasm.. Although how you define "reincarnation" might be different then whats going on... i think its more a inheriting of their property / past skills / genetics then actual soul... i belive the actual soul of your death previous characters are going to influence the game through ancestor worship and some hearth-magic.

Griefers have no purpose. I do. You want to make me an antagonist, then do so, but do not call me a griefer. That term doesn't even apply and you just make yourself out to be foolish.

Edit - Lest we forget zdazzle, you stole steel from a whole town trying to function, calling me a griefer is pure hypocrisy, Talk about a kettle calling a teapot burnt ass.

All the heated drama aside ;), I agree that this is a problem, but it is less than clear just how to solve it. On the one hand, new characters should be allowed to inherit old claims (it is one of the intended effects of the system of buying claimed land with LPs: it means that those LPs are permanently invested in the "bloodline" of the character), but on the other hand, it would, indeed, be a bit annoying to have claims left from dead characters whose owners intend to let them stay dead.

Of course, villages now have the ability to dissolve claims, though, so it might be possible to simply let it stay at that. Otherwise, it might be reasonable to argue that claims should decay in some time unless a new character is started to inherit from the dead owner.

lol ah, but what I did was called theiving, a accepted/implemented part of the game. What you are doing is policing the game when no one wants you to be. They put what I did into the game, I didnt break a rule/block people in doing it. What you are doing is griefing, accept it, what I did was theiving, I have accepted it. Now, try a comeback that involves you not calling me a griefer, cause everyone knows im not. Please.
