- pick a noob friendly realm
- settle far from water
- far from active claims
- far from localized resources
maybe you're too close to some clay node, water node, etc... maybe they're just talkin trash

There are quite a lot of abandoned places around, you could always take one of those over and repair the walls and build new gates. Two returning players in my area have done just that.
Or start off in a small enclosed cave system, which is what I always do, out of sight, out of mind ... can expand above ground once you have the mats to secure it.

If you are on the southern border, HH's realm is nice, good bonuses and the market, still some pretty quiet areas and a fair amount of friendly villages. :)

H&H has very low population density, it's highkly unlikely to get attacked while building that wall. Not at all like it is at world reset, then you have tons of people going around griefing because population density is much higher and most people don't have walls yet.

Well dont force yourself into a game like this, unless youre enjoying it, if its a pain try other games, or some other real life hobbies

OP what you’re describing here is the entire fun of this game, something known as meaningful interaction with other players. Either set up your base somewhere else (the permanent residents of the Northern Kingdom in the Northeast are fairly peaceble) or stay and fight.

The best way to defend yourself and ensure lasting peace wherever you settle is to have safety in numbers, I’d recommend a noob-friendly village or encampment. The game isn’t supposed to be easy and luck is going to be even more against you when you’re alone, but it’s this difficulty that makes the game satisfying to get good at.
