Codexia Trade: Buying Bricks; Selling Iron

Postby Lothaudus » Wed Apr 28, 2010 1:43 pm

Do you want Iron? Do you need Iron? A Metal Plow? A Scythe? A Pickaxe? Perhaps a Meat Grinder or maybe you just want a Cellar? Maybe you even want to make your own Wrought or Steel? Whatever your Cast Iron needs, if you can deliver Bricks to 'nople¹, then Iron can be yours.

Codexia is expanding and we need a metric fuck-tonne of Bricks. Having already exhausted our local supplies, we figure we may as well import that shit in. For that purpose, we are offering:

1x Iron Nugget in exchange for 5x Bricks

Bricks can be any Q. We don't care. As we're targetting n00bs without metal and trying to keep prices low, the Iron on offer is Q25 - 30ish.

We'll even trade finished goods:

  • 10 Bricks for a Tankard.
  • 20 Bricks (an inventory full) will get you enough nuggets to make 1 Chest.
  • 50 Bricks for 1 full Bar of Cast Iron.
  • 50 Bricks for 1 Scythe.
  • 200 Bricks for 1 Pickaxe.
  • 600 Bricks for 1 Metal Saw.
We understand some people may not be able to deliver this many Bricks at once but we are willing to do IOU's. That is, we'll take your Bricks and keep a tab and when you reach the price for your item, you can pick it up at our Embassy. Alternatively, we can give you nuggets as you deliver and when you've got enough, we'll exchange those for the item you're after.

If you're a n00b and you need supplies, we'll even do other deals such as 5 Bricks for:

  • Animal Hide
  • Rope
  • Wool
  • Glue
  • Rustroot
  • Any Bones (normal Bones but ask us about Boar Tusks, Deer Antlers or Bear Teeth)
  • Any Seed (excluding Peapods, Tobacco, Peppercorns and Potatoes)
  • Anything else
We are open to and will consider any other finished product you may be looking to buy that we can make. We even have some old damaged sets of Bronze Plate Armour we'd be willing to trade.

If you can make Bricks and you can haul those Bricks to Constantinople, then we want to trade with you.

To trade you can:

  • Post here and one of our trade representatives will be in touch.
  • PM me.
  • Bring your Bricks to the Codexian Embassy this weekend 1st May @ 1:30 UTC. We'll be open all day (about 8 hours) for trade.
So those of you who want Iron, get your Bricks and get yourself to Constantinople.

¹That's "Constantinople". I can't be assed writing out it's full name all the time but I can add this little footer.

Funny how you shorten Constantinople once, write a footnote for it and later just write "Constantinople" :P
We have established CO btw.

is any craftsman going to be availiable to forge things like high q saws / cutting edges etc? (well higher q than i can make anyway...)

edit: what q range is the iron going to be? xD
loftar: New hair styles? Really? Seeing how Jorb never gets off his lazy ass to draw some, I almost want to add them to the game proper.
jorb: stfu n00b.

We actually import all our high Q shit in but we could do Q127 Bone Saws for 35 Bricks if you want?

Good point, updated the post. Iron is only Q25 - 30ish as we're targetting metal-less n00bs and solo players.

How many bricks would you take for a Bronze Bar?

We don't have Bronze on hand at the moment but given the difficulties for us it'd cost more than Iron (our Tin mine is about 15 miles deep inside a cave and JORB HATES CAVE MINERS - even though carts inside caves is slightly better now, we still can't travel at walking speed with them). If you still want a price, we'd offer it at 100 Bricks for a bar of Bronze, Q45ish. And we'd need orders in advance.

Yes and if anyone wants something other than Iron or anything else mentioned above for their Bricks, ask us and we should be able to work out a deal.

Now, once again our Embassy will be open for trade from 1:30 UTC on the 1st May. That's approximately 14 hours from the time of this post, and we'll be open for about 8 hours or so. All those who can get to 'nople during that time, we'll have Cast Iron ready for you. We're hoping to setup some regular opening times for our Embassy beyond that as well.

Just show up at the Codexian National Embassy (when it's open tomorrow on 1st May @ 1:30 UTC) with your Bricks and we'll have Cast Iron ready for you.

Ladies & Gentlemen, we are open now and will be all day.

If you need Metal and can get Bricks, now is the time to trade! Deals have already been done at the Codexian National Embassy, with happy customers walking away with precious metal for chests and tools.

And while the server is down, I may as well take the time to go over how it works:

  1. When you arrive (with your inventory, a chest / coffer or a boat with chests / coffers of Bricks) our Ambassador Colonel Mustard will kin you.
  2. Once kinned, he will then will party you. That allows you to place things safely on our claim and interact with them.
  3. Once partied, you can drop your boat and we'll unload your Bricks into a cornerpost (WHERE ARE MY STOCKPILES JORBTAR?)
  4. Once the Bricks are all unloaded, we'll do a count and give you whatever combination of metal / nuggets / tools it was you were after in exchange (as per prices in the first post above).
  5. Once the trade is complete, you can re-load your boat with your chests / pick your things up again and port / walk away. Once you've done that, we disband the party.
... and a few things to note:

  1. For security reasons, we will only party one person at a time.
  2. In the event the server crashes while you're on our claim, you'll find you won't be able to log back in where you logged out (as it's claimed land). In that event, we are taking names (hence the kinning) and will hold onto your goods until you are able to return to complete the trade and pick-up your things again (Being able to log back in at the Idol of the village you logged out at might be nice Loftorb - with maybe some option for the LS to see where people have logged out and kick people who try that during a raid).
  3. Trading at Constantinople is pretty safe as Sodom are providing security and hunting down anyone who steals.
(And why can't I log back in where I logged out just because I was sitting in a chair? That's just not on).

UPDATE: Server is back up, we're open again.
