https://ncov2019.live/datahttps://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps ... 7b48e9ecf6The thing that is fucking wild to me is how countries like Italy have such a exponential growth in reported cases and DEATHS compared to Chinese provinces.
These Chinese provinces took well over a month to initiate controversial hardcore containment and quarantining measures like literally welding people in to homes, meanwhile their numbers are somehow stagnant.
I really wonder if we will ever see any real data about the true impact and loss of lives that happened in these areas.
I think that only countries which have good and maybe remotely accurate numbers are european countries, south korea and japan. Possible US and some other developed countries.
Countries like china have issues in diagnosing and reporting all of the cases. So I wouldn't trust the new numbers from there, they probably just stopped diagnosing people or reporting numbers, as many provinces haven't had new cases in days, which obviously cannot be true.
Some developing countries, like India, have 0 or 1 cases reported, but I am pretty sure that India has at least the same amount of cases that China has, maybe even more, because lots of people in India and worse hygiene.
I highly doubt that we ever get real numbers from those countries (india, china, laos etc.)
https://hgis.uw.edu/virus/ I myself use this map which I find pleasant.
My prediction is (has been since yesterday) that there will be 100+ cases in Finland in end of the next week.
Of course the most interesting thing is, what happens after the corona pandemic. For example, there will probably be shortages on many things, because factories in China have not been working for long time. It shows how vulnerable the modern global economy is, when few things are manufactured fully locally, and parts are acquired from the cheapest countries possible.
I think that it is also interesting to see how Finland and other nordic countries react to this. "Liberal" values prevent from proper quarantine, government is very hesitant to restrict movement of people because of nordic values and what not. For example those 130 people (mostly children) who are in quarantine in Finland now, their other family members are not under quarantine, because "we follow same policy as other countries to not quarantine people without symptoms or close contact with confirmed infected people" we'll see how that ends...
