Wild animals dont end attack till destruction

What happend was me being curious if i can kill a moose from the safety of a pally. I agro a moose with sling from inside pally (all gates closed) moose agro and start attacking pally i realise i made a terrible mistake and run to building go inside peace and wait for combat to end . Go out after combat end find moose still attacking pally eventhough it isnt Agro on me anymore...moose fights till pally is destroyed..

Surely the animal should stop attacking the palli after agro has ended?

you should also probably let your palisade dry before trying these things. but yeah its weird it would keep bashing if its lost agro

Animal AI likely has no checks to change action when bashing something, I fought an animal and it started bashing old tree stump. For some reason I went "no, don't do that" and moved into position where the animal could reach me, but it just kept bashing.
