I'd like to see metal recycling so I could not just drop lowq bronze swords, but resmelt them in bars again

If we want combat to be fun we have to throw away this deck mechanic and create real movement based combat with different types of attack - point blank, skillshots, aoe. Also we need common classes like healer/support, dps, burst, tank. Plus we need some kind of reset mechanic - for example you could kill yourself to get 90% of stats/etc (hunger/satieties shouldn't reset after death).

We could have so many fun and interesting things like armor gildings if devs just focused development in 1 single direction.

Do you want to cling on to the ancient full loot/permadeath pvp archetype and advertise the game as an unfriendly sandbox for autists, or do you want to steer away from pvp and let the game be a sandbox for friendly autists?

There is no longer a realistic middleground here, and only 1 of these options is objectively good for player retention and population.

You just took steps to remove siege but made open world pvp ridiculously more unbalanced towards sprucecap killers in 1 foul and out of touch swoop.

Did you even realize you were doing this? Is it a lack of understanding? A lack of care? Is this really an appeal to your grand vision for the game?
Updates like this raise so many questions and ultimately just make me discouraged for the direction of development as a whole.

People who are not interested in PVP are complaining, DMing and forum posting about it practically every day.

People who ARE interested in PVP are posting pictures and videos and openly bragging about the stupid shit you are allowing and how broken and misguided it is.

Can you guys just take a fucking hint?

Yes, Aleck, everytime we (almost) do something that isn't to your liking, the correct thing to do is to launch out into wild, flailing rants about how out of touch, old, and off target we are, and about how many QUESTIONS(tm) it raises about THE FUTURE OF DEVELOPMENT(tm), especially when you seem to want armor gildings yourself, and your gripe here is primarily with the gemstone/attributes part of it. Makes you come across as a very balanced commentator full of nuance. :)

Go outside and take a deep breath of fresh air. It'll do you good.

Appreciate the discussion in the thread otherwise. Will consider.

I don't think my gripe and opinions about development are off the beaten path of the general populace. While I am flattered that my feedback seems to have so much more agency than other players, I fear that it is allowing you to foolishly dismiss it.

I think you should be a lot more concerned about the people whose feedback comes in the form of actively and flagrantly abusing the misguided content you add to and leave in the game. My rhetoric might be more sensual and exciting for you but we are all singing in the same choir.

If you mean the funny iconsign bot, I don't think it was really that effective or broken. It only took people like 10-20 minutes on alts to dismantle it, compared to the four hours of protection rams take to destroy. As usual, the most effective siege strategy is just to demoralize people and give them any possible cope to use as a justification for not trying, since not trying has been the only way to get successfully sieged for like 5 years.

I realize you're just pranking Jorb, but I rly believe you're wrong about Haven not being able to reconcile its opposing natures as a PVP autism-fest and a cute LARPzone for gamer housewives to hangout it.

You only need to be able to engage with the PVP aspects of this game at a /very/ basic level to be competent enough to just nope out of 99% of situations, and the 1% generally only happens to retards doing aggressive dumbshit. The biggest balance issue the game has (other than maybe lack of viable public clients), is that the LARPers play a completely different game than the PVPers. The LARPers could've been playing for over a decade, but effectively have 0 hours 0 minutes of PVP practice, or even transferable practice that somewhat emulates PVP.

I think historically the kneejerk reaction from the plebs, and therefore the requests given to Jorbtar have been essentially "keep me safe", IE: remove teleporting, make PVP inconvenient, remove death, remove siege, slow down rage, red-hand, no teleporting with outlaw, etc. The majority, or heck, even the top 20% of the playerbase being slowly but forcefully encouraged to learn the absolute basics, to the point they can at least like 10v2 make average PVPers run would be an insane boon for the game from a balance perspective, and I don't think it's at all unreasonable.

I think historically war, army and therefore also pvp in games, are pregnant in our culture, so I can well understand the demand for it.
Wtf, Queen Elizabeth's coffin ... they put it on a fucking cannon, then tell me if I am the crazy one or what? And the army all around, we are all pacifists but when there is a national event to be celebrated there is always the fucking army .... what the fuck?

We know that pvp is necessary but we could also start to give it further meaning, I don't know much about it so I won't go into it but, to say, a permanent wound after a murder doesn't seem like a bad idea to me.

This 100%. If y'all want people to participate in PvP make PvP something that's actually fun. Running for ages and drinking gallons of water just isn't cutting it.
