Food not working

I posted this in another section as well (have since removed the other post), but figured it might be a bug so am putting it here. Could really use some help.

I am trying to eat and nothing is applying. I have tried fruits, cooked meals, etc...and I am getting nothing from them. It's not showing that I even ate them. No bars for the food on satiations, nada. I have used new foods and I get nothing, no bing, no points, nothing. It was working fine yesterday, but not a thing I eat works today. Any ideas? I keep hoping it's something I clicked by accident. I can't keep playing until it works, need to get energy back.

I did create another character on the same account and it's working fine on that one.

Intended. You're eating without a table. NEVER eat without a table. This change was implemented to allow you to gain Energy easier as well as to stop people from doing what you're doing.

Wait, I am confused. It's been years since I played, so I am relearning. You are saying that at some point (is it random?), I gain nothing from eating unless it's at a table? I will happily build a table if that is the case. How would I know/learn this? I have been reading everything I can on the wiki, I must have missed that part.

If your energy is below 8000% eating does nothing but restore energy unless you eat at a table. Obviously you were eating to gain FEPs while not at a table which is pretty much the worst sin you can commit when it comes to building your character.

I had no idea. Early on, you get what you need as you explore and eat. I will quickly build a table and solve my issue. It was very frustrating to have something that worked, stop working and have no idea as to why it happened. Now I know. I appreciate the info, it was all I needed to keep progressing.
