I dont mind the current food system. The only changes I wanna see are whale meat nerf, make dying less OP and baked goods buff.

I think super high number food is cool when it's a funky reward for doing some shit. When you spend your entire game-play around it, or have to compete with people who do that's when it sucks.

Whale meat being insanely strong would not matter at all if FEPs:Hunger were equalized by having hunger only be gained when you gain stats as described in the OP.

Likewise, hungercide would not be an issue if hunger reset completely on a timer as long as that timer wasn't too long. I'd still be in favor of making the timer LONG and just inheriting hunger to avoid needing to login constantly. Could make the how often hunger goes down or how much hunger you gain scale with your stats compared to global leader, too.

Yeah honestly stuff like whale just sucks because of the system, if it was hunger per stat gained it wouldn't matter, and if you found one you'd still hunt it for the wax and for some easy feps. Arguably idk if anyone would bother with stuff like cheese or truffles if they weren't able to just bot it and hunger was gained per stat, i'd much rather eat twice as much food instead of getting truffles for every single bite. But that's due to those systems being made the way they are (doing them without bots makes me want to kill myself), and not feasting.

Also, I like the idea of hunger going down/gain scale with how far away you are from the global leader, that's basically an equalization of stats (more or less) but you still need to put in the work instead of having every shitter with 300 stats be able to fight with people at 600s as if they were even remotely close in effort put in.

If I am understanding this correctly the Q of food would only contribute to decreasing the volume you need to consume enabling you to consume more of your desired food by not fucking up satieties as much, when the only real progression advantage over other people would be tied exclusively to symbelware, and differences of food processing difficulty or certain foods that need active competing for would be ignored.

Doesn't exactly sound pretty. Some food types definitely need to be worse/better depending on how easy/hard it is to acquire them. Or I guess just straight-up kill satiety regen speed to force people to experiment with and prepare more food types of their desired stat. And spices would probably need to be reworked from a +FEP boost to something hunger-related too.

There's a lot to consider.

I recall that one time I almost killed my main character with ~200hp Bum Burn. Never even noticed the wound until I've run out of sausages.

We had a "fighter" (in name only) in our village last world that literally killed himself by bum burn and then quit the game. And that was around 500-600 hp mark xD

Should really just be an debuff that prevents you from eating more. Or a wound that deals a static % of HP when you first get it and you can't eat more until it's healed.

Anything but death by ass blasting.

Going from pre UA equalization where I cared about optimizing my study to now where I literally just throw any curio I find on my study desk throughout my normal play and it's "good enough".

I want the same thing for feasting. I want all of the food in my base to be usable instead of mostly noob traps. I want to unironically pick apples from trees and eat them for con during the early game.

The feasting system would have no right to be as convoluted as it is if it worked, but it doesn't even work.

Like you have just said, the solution was UA equalization, not homogenizing curiosities to make them equally good.

This is why the proposed changes to Hitpoints and the STR/CON equalization got a warm reception, stat equalization is the direction they should take.
