That's nice? It's plenty worth it for people with a large herd of cows who have excess milk, or for people who're out hunting and happen across clovers. 20 clovers = 6 iron. That's a better rate than you'll ever find for chantrelles, and they're just as easy to find if you've got good per*exp.

Its actually 50 clovers for 6 iron at your rate. And if they already have a huge herd, they probably can already trade for metal at much better rates.

What would be a fair price for milk by the barrel? I'd agree 6 cast is kind of lowballing it and milk is an unusual and unstable commodity. Still the 50 clovers kind of sets the bar at the old 9-12 herbs:bar that has been the usual appraisal of metal. Clovers might be a slightly rarer spawn than mushrooms were back then too depending on one's access to terrain.

Otoh, I couldn't imagine trying to feed enough cows to produce export levels of milk without a steady supply of cheap metal to begin with.

Gotta remember that the whole game is fairly random trades, and so it's hard to really know what a given thing ought to be worth. I have on two occasions now gone out and collected the clovers for a barrel full of milk. It took me a few hours with 56*40 perception. A clover is basically 2l of milk, so a barrel of milk is equal to 50 clovers. It is a larger number than most trades of chantrelles, but people also aren't trading a chest of chantrelles for 6 bars of iron or 12 common metals. Usually it's more like a bar or two. In my opinion the price I set is pretty average for the same period of time spent as you'd get for using the same price to collect something else.

Either way, it doesn't matter much anymore, as I've gotten my herd of cows going a bit better. The wiki and such all claim that cows give 5l a day, but it's incorrect. I imagine perhaps they can hold up to 5l of milk at a time, but I milked the only female currently giving milk three times yesterday, and got 4l, 3l, and 4l respectively. All in under 24 hours.

Cows give over 10l a day. Try getting rid of your calves. ;)

Sent you a PM a while back, by the way...

I thought it's 10l per in-game day, ie 30l per RL day (if you're OCD about milking).

It's 14.4 L per RL day.
