Gotta remember that the whole game is fairly random trades, and so it's hard to really know what a given thing ought to be worth. I have on two occasions now gone out and collected the clovers for a barrel full of milk. It took me a few hours with 56*40 perception. A clover is basically 2l of milk, so a barrel of milk is equal to 50 clovers. It is a larger number than most trades of chantrelles, but people also aren't trading a chest of chantrelles for 6 bars of iron or 12 common metals. Usually it's more like a bar or two. In my opinion the price I set is pretty average for the same period of time spent as you'd get for using the same price to collect something else.
Either way, it doesn't matter much anymore, as I've gotten my herd of cows going a bit better. The wiki and such all claim that cows give 5l a day, but it's incorrect. I imagine perhaps they can hold up to 5l of milk at a time, but I milked the only female currently giving milk three times yesterday, and got 4l, 3l, and 4l respectively. All in under 24 hours.
