Rename gates!

Rename "Visitor Gates" to "Safe Gate"
Rename "Gates" to "Unsafe Gate"

Natural way to make noobs make their bases a lot safer.

Tbh for sprucecaps visitor gates are more dangerous than normal gates

I've done my gates differently every goddamn world because of shit like two nearly 15 year old accounts not being able to agree on them

When it comes to the base itself, those names would be accurate - but when it comes to seeking safety, the gates are suddenly reversed.

If I was a game designer and executives told me "we need to rename the gates to be more intuitive!" I would go with:

"Visitor Gate" = "Restricted Gate"
"Gate" = "Unrestricted Gate"

Still far, far from perfect, but I'm pretty sure that's the best you could do with a simple re-naming.

Losing your character or even just getting KO'd is not the same as losing your base.
That spruce cap usually wears a master key that opens his normal gate which allows you to break his whole base just because.

I prefer the simpler names to cause less confusion initially.
Ideally we would have an in game encyclopedia that will give more information on the difference of gates so you dont have to cram the information in the label.

You are then taking away the skill experession of base building. Removing more functionality is bad.
Lets just steer noobs to make the right desicions rather than removing normal gates which is gamechanging for the experienced playerbase.

I will never understand the logic behind not being allowed to run through my own visitor gate when attacked. That's like being attacked in your front yard but not being able to run inside your house to safety, you must stay outside and fight.

I'd like to have only visitor gates and anyone with permission on that claim can go through at any time.

the reason why they were designed this way so people can't harass people and then run behind the gate but of course it's a double edged sword if somebody attacks you at the other side of the gate you can't go through

the best solution building an airlock with a Gatehouse with a lock on the gate house you go inside the gate house the time it takes them to pick the lock you'll probably lose Agro and run into a basement into a mine hole and get away
of course this only will work if you don't have six guys completely surrounding you and stopping you from being able to move
