One group views all the hunting and farming and mining as merely a way to create a more powerful killing machine to ravage the countryside. Last man standing wins. They look on any other opinions as a bunch of wimps who should be playing Stardew Valley.
The other group prefers role playing, all the hunting and farming and fishing is an end to itself, and feel there are enough ways to die in the game without worrying everyone they meet will kill them just because they are there. They look on the first group as a bunch of psychotic serial killers whose sole intent is to ruin the game for everyone else.
There is no common ground here other than the map; and no hope of reconciliation since the devs have said they've no intent of having PvP and non-PvP servers. So we try to co-exist; the PvP crowd roaming in search of targets, and the rpg crowd tending their farms, with occasional hunting/fishing forays, hearthing home at site of another player on the map. It has worked, so to speak, for years, with each side complaining of the other.
Unfortunately this. Which is kinda sad, as the "hearth on sight" stops people from finding friends in the MMO. All the friends I made INSIDE the game are due to happy accidents, where both of us could not hearth immediately for some reason(and the other guy/girl was not a griefer) or when a cool guy with a good reputation called me out afterwards in realm chat.
Does Hearth onsite even work? Like maybe if you have a script..... but i believe the Kill on sight crowd have scripts that Auto Aggro when an unknown comes on screen and it really doesnt take long to clear the distance between first sight and aggro range even if you hearth as soon as an unknown is seen, the only chance you have is if your in dense forest and enough things to break LOS???? or am I wrong.....
