Rework ranger gear to do something more akin to a scouting role.
As it stands, ranger gear is very rarely used. Bow is used more often than anything for ranger gearsets. I recommend adjusting the ranger gearset as follows:
Boots:
Option 1: add perception as a hard stat to the gear piece.
Option 2: give it an automatic second gilding slot (much like the cape)
Pants:
Give Perception or Agility as a hard stat.
Cape:
Make it single slot for equipment, adjust to be Agility/Stealth gilding requirements.
Shirt:
Adjust exploration gilding stat to be Agi/Stealth like preposed changes to cape.
The following can be an alternative to the preposed changes:
Adjust all gearset to focus around marksmanship, Stealth, and Perception for an archery combat class.
Give all pieces the ability to hasten arrows launch timing.
ADJUST COST to require a nugget of steel or two per piece of the set.
Preposing this idea to make archery with ranger bows in the ranger gearset to be more used in a broader pvp setting.
I rarely see an archer engaging in combat often, ranger geared players can focus on support roles for their fighters in combat and would indeed add a bit of strategy to larger scale fights in all attack, defense, and retreat. Archers changed combat irl in many ways when they were introduced to the battlefield and i think that should be reflected in this game. I would NOT recommend adjusting how player armor works against arrows as a few hits for 30-60 will make them a targetable threat but not overly powerful alone.
I will accept appropriate criticism on this idea. I am not a all knowing fellow and I may be overlooking a balance factor. But i think ranger changes will indeed help the archery class as a whole since steel is hard to get, and B12s will murk people pretty heavily.
