I use bots because it's better for my wrist health.
Haven has poor UX, as it relies on the mouse as the main controller for everything. This is bad because Haven isn't 100% dynamic PvP combat that would build muscle memory with the mouse. Instead, it mostly involves boring interactions like opening chests and so on, which leads to wrist pain. In these situations, you have to control the mouse precisely, causing fatigue. Just thinking about right-clicking a tree and selecting 'chop' brings back phantom pain from years of me playing such retarded topdown games.
BTW: Also the fact that flower petals won't show under 1 ms contributes to fatigue.

I don't know what you're talking about and probably neither do you ... always played that way.DonVelD wrote:It's good to have fantasies but it's all they are. In reality, one char one person won't work, just like communism.
It's nothing but your narrow horizon, and that of the elite circle that tries to shape the game and Jorbtar's poor mind, for your convenience, on the side of the few against the many .... money ... damn money.
It's always the same story ....
It would be beautiful with only one player each, it would be, in fact, a heaven, dark for real, torches, lots of client side features and all the nice things we can't have because of the usual people in this world ... the fallen angel.
But I am sure, given enough time, one step at a time, we will get there sooner or later.
We will take back what is ours.

It will work. It doesn't work now because there's nothing stopping anybody from doing it lol. If lawlessness was a thing the world would be full of people doing whatever the fuck they wanted to propel themselves ahead of others.DonVelD wrote:It's good to have fantasies but it's all they are. Man, I dunno how the fuck you people have convinced jorb and loftar that it's impossible to stop alts. Games 20 years ago stopped alts. Modern games disallow and stop alt usage all the time too. It's not exactly difficult. Seems to me like J&L have conceded this battle before they even tried putting up a fight.
Step 1.
Make it so you can only make 1 character per account
Step 2.
1 account per IP
Step 3.
Use an algorithm that auto detects IP usage and if that same IP loads up another account, ban both.
Now I already know what you're going to say.
>BUT WHAT ABOUT VPN USAGE
What about it?
There are numerous work arounds to VPN's and even if those work arounds are bypassed you can have things to check for that and even if THOSE checks fail it'll be such a pain in the ass to do and so potentially dangerous to fuck up that people will be deterred from doing it.
At bare minimum it would stop a main account + alt account being loaded simultaneously.
Just Step 1 of this would have been amazing if not for the inclusion of Sub Tokens in the game. Even most alts that bot for you want to be on a verified + subbed account.
To be fair, I was mostly referring to player vs animal with that one and not PvP and I still stand by what I said. Despite how you make it sound it would be much interactive than jumping in a cave/sprinting away, healing openings, jumping out, hit a few times gameplay we have currently.Audiosmurf wrote:(this take is not dogshit, but the "combat should just be standing there!" one was)

YES LETS BAN ALL IP HEHE
Lets create algorithm for detection of bot users:
1. Take random logged in player
2. Ban
3. Take a shit
4. Repeat

At least I've considered false positives when creating my algorithm. It took me few seconds to create it and HAS (it's provable) these qualities:Nocturnal-Rainbows wrote:Stunning, powerful, brave AND inspiring post.
1. You can implement it right away as it's written in pseudocode with simplest of primitives
2. It has 100% sensitivity (=no bots)
3. Refers to pooping
what can you prove? I think your post only proves that you're very confused man.

Sorry but you're just confirming you're complaining about a mechanic you don't understand.Nocturnal-Rainbows wrote: World Resource alts are so low maintenance and easy to make that there's nothing stopping you from putting a second alt at them.
If you put an alt at a salt node and harvest it, that alt can never re-harvest that salt node unless it goes and picks a different natural resource first. They changed that 2 worlds ago.
Imagine being told you have to handle farming because that's your job, oh but its ok because you can do other things, but you only have time to play like 1 hour a night because you have a wife, kids and a job and the farming takes up most of that time. But its ok though because you can still do other things even though your job is the farming and only you have the job of farming.Nocturnal-Rainbows wrote:The guy handling farming can do other shit but he's going to need to at minimum up his farming skill and do the farming credo.
Again, I understand your perspective, but I think you're just wrong.
Not everybody has the luxury of having that much free time to spend on a video game every single day. What you propose hurts the casual players and hermits infinitely more than it ever will actual villages/competitive groups of playerNocturnal-Rainbows wrote:I hermit, I can have 1 character that does everything.
The internet ran out of IPv4 addresses years ago, most home ISP's will change your IP regularly because they literally don't have enough anymore to just give everybody one static IP. A lot of ISP's don't offer IPv6. Relying on somebody having one IP hasn't been a viable thing for over a decade.Nocturnal-Rainbows wrote:1 account per IP

Holy fucking yap massacre. Now also explain to me how communism could work. If only you could ban people irl.Nocturnal-Rainbows wrote:

Anyway back to the general discourse ... yours are all excuses, the only reason you use all the crap you use is the power that comes with it full stop.
You can try to justify your inner self in all the ways you want but that remains the one and only reason: the will to power.

Can you give examples of games that were able to effectively stop alts?Nocturnal-Rainbows wrote:Games 20 years ago stopped alts. Modern games disallow and stop alt usage all the time too.
