Haven has made me weary of others; I don't normally like joining a village.

Plus, the way it's set up most of the time, feels like putting in for a damn college. I understand that you want to be organized.... but, still. I don't think an application is necessary to play the game with other people. Though, I do see the need for one, I just don't like the thought of it.

I had a silly belief that I can live in a small village exploring, leveling up and maybe trading with neighbours, no chance for that.

just find some friends and walk for as long as you can to one direction. you won't be seeing anyone other than your buddies. the world map is HUGE, especially now since it's new.
you were just living in a bad neighborhood.

me too, but only because it's hard to find people i can trust and will get along with.
most (if not all) people i joined to start villages didn't help at all/quit after a little while/ended up being a spy/raided us.
so now it's just 2 of us who can work really great together.

no. i mean being part of a village of people that socializes with each other and is working together toward a common goal. whether the goal is peaceful farming or ultraviolence is beside the point.

Oh yeah, I agree, of course if you are a type of person who likes socializing with people whose goal is ultraviolence.

I know it's hard to believe but not everyone in this game are hell bent, ramping people.
Anyways, I for one agree with this change. Everyday I see a new post in moot, I would always get excited. To find out that the thread had no content, no screenshots, no story. The start of the world is always like this but the amount of spam went up dramatically.

It isn't like we've got a way to recognize in advance who is who, though.
And given that alts make murdering other people an action that has essentially no consequence, thus making if far too common, there are too many risks and too much to lose in trusting random people.
Since all it takes are few seconds to lose a char to one of those aforemented "hell bent, ramping people".
