Why the current hunger/feasting system SUCKS

I think it's a li'l different. You don't walk around a randomly pick up enough food by just playing normally like you do with curios, and also some people like to just make their character big as a mindlessly grindy end-game.

Don't get me wrong, the balance on current feasting is kinda bad - but that's not rly the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that it's unfun for all of the reasons listed in OP.

Equalization would not get us to a point where you can eat random bullshit and still be within 50% of people, not by a long shot. You would still need to use fairly meta foods, just less.
