about Tree farming (world 7)

Hello, folks!

I've got a question about the subject. Can you plant trees of different types at the same area (birch tree and fir tree, for example) or should they be away from each other?

Thx in advance!

Two main sets:

Fir/Pine/Yew

Birch/Apples/Everything else

Each set has their own forest type, and trees grown on the correct forest type grow much faster (3 days on right, 2+ weeks for wrong type with birch trees for example)

So yeah, you'll need to grow the forest types seperate to prevent them interfering with each other's terrain types (they change the ground around em while they grow).

to elaborate/make clear, plant broadleaf trees on 1 side of your base and coniferous on the other, you don't need 2 different bases...

Each tree influences an area 21x21 centered on itself (species doesn't matter).

So long as the edge of your two tree planting areas are at least 10 tiles between the two types of trees, there's no interference.

Tree Formula

Wondering if people can confirm that the tree formula posted on the wiki is correct. If it is not, does anyone then know the correct formula? Thanks.

I'd say it's right.

Is there any chance the RNG might have a range of -5,+5 instead of -2,+5?

I was always under the impression that it's -5->+5, didn't realize the wiki said otherwise.

If you can show it's -5, 5, feel free to change the wiki, but it's been considered correct for quite a while now.
