Adds a new option under the Adventure Menu: Translate.
Selecting Translate causes a window to appear.
On the window there are two columns, each with a dropdown box over them. To the left of the dropdwon boxes should be two labels, one labeled From: and the Other labeled To:
Within the dropdown boxes should be several languages, such as English, Russian, and Spanish.
You begin using this interface by selecting a language on the left. I will use English as an example.
On the left side of the window are several common phrases in English. Simple things you would expect to communicate in Haven and Hearth. "Hello" "Yes" "No" as well as numbers and names of items from within the game.
By selecting a language from the second dropdown, Russian in this example, you see the equivalent phrases in Russian.
So, a person could select Hello (and other phrases to string together a simple sentence), and the word in Russian would appear in their chat box. They could then hit enter in their chat box and the Hearthling would say "Hello" in Russian.
A Russian player with the same skill could then use this interface to reply back in English, and dialogue could continue there. Translated Dialogue should perhaps be spoken in a different font color, so each player could understand the limitations of their communication.

Re: New Skill: Language
it would be easier to make the text copy/paste-able so you could copy and paste to/from online translators

Re: New Skill: Language
Copy paste into an already available online translator would be the best for the developers to implement probably.
It does bring to mind however that while doing the copy - paste routine, it might cause someone to be a bit late on who gets the drop on who if the person you meet has bad intent.
But in general, a good idea.

Re: New Skill: Language
Either an easy-to-implement that's 'okay' method: Copy/Paste-able text into online translators
OR
Go full out and something like FFXI, which is something that would take a long time and take quite a few translators to help.
