How does FEP work again?

Trying to eat boiled eggs to get my perception up, not sure how it works but I'm not getting perception, is it because I'm eating too many agility and strength foods too?

When you fill your FEP bar it randomly picks a stat to raise, and the chances of any particular stat getting raised are proportionate to the percentage of the FEP bar that is filled by that stat's FEPs. So, the only way you'll have a 100% chance to raise per is to eat nothing but per food.
