Server Reset?

...yea.. i think some people completely missed the point of the map reset.. it isnt to make people do everything again, or take stuff away from people, or make it easier on anyone ect... It's so that they can swtich to a infiinite-sized map that has a bunch of features this one lacks. It's about giving the game new features, not about hurting/helping players in any direct sence.

The infinite map update is separate from the generation update.

Most likely not. It would be a good move to introduce it with the new map and it's features.

They have stated that it is. They might make it happen at the same time, but they are things to be indipendantly done.

*shrugs* yea, i dont know, i would guess that the next map is supposed to be easily extended at the least though..

As has been stated above, the map reset is not due because we're simply "bored" with this one and intend to generate another one just like it. The new map will have new terrain types, rivers, mountains, deep water, streams, prespawned mining points and god knows what else we might think of. The point is that the current map generator does not produce interesting enough maps, quite simply, and needs work. Loftar has also mentioned rewriting the map format, but that is on his table.

I am sorry but for how long have you played yet?
I don't want to act elitist or something, but people earn their advantage by playing he game. Most of us played to game much longer than the recent goon wave. We've been working toward to reset even. And now you argue that because we can die anyway we should just reset everyone?

If you think the map reset is just to "fix" the map you're only partly right. They reworked the map generator. New features will come with the reset.

All this does is stagnate the community, by pleasing the few elitists who have been around longer while ignoring the larger player base.
Right now it is really clear how the game is broken, when players can break down the best of walls in minutes alone and there are only a rare few who can fight back.
If this is to ever be fixed combat and skills need to be reworked along side a reset.
