Hi. I think that cupboards can be much more useful in the game if they will be changed a bit )).
Right now cupboard holds 2and2/3 of standard inventory (24 slots), that is not really comfortable.
Holding 3 full inventories will be much more useful, because of trade.
The other thing that will be EXTRIMELY useful is adding 1-4 extra slots in the same way as in a table. The slots were one can put any stuff that will be shown on the top of the cupboard. (Like symbels on a table)
It would make holding storehouse in excellent order easier and safe a lot of time for searching stuffs one need.
Thanks.

Re: Better Cupboards
There's a joke about "Super Cupboard" that's 4x as big that makes me sad every time.
In any case, cupboards are a fine size when you consider how much you can fit, I'd like some sort of shelving system you could setup instead or place on top of cupboards, or stackable small cupboards or something though as well.

Re: Better Cupboards
i have 35 inventory slots, so for comfort reasons i should get a 105 slots cupboard.
or better yet! 257 inventories, which comes down to 8995 slots cupboard.
my post is no more a joke then the OP, both don't have any serious arguments. it does nothing for trade and you keep the stuff you want separate at the bottom because stuff gets added top to bottom, left to right. separately placing them at the bottom is no more work then placing them in a separate 2x4box at the top.

Re: Better Cupboards
I think that you miss the main point.
The main point is not a size, but ability to see what insude the cupboar without opening it.
I the same way you see plates and setere on a table.
All players have dozen of cupboars, ant it is a bit hard to memorize witch one you need.
1 to 4 slots, where one can put stuffs that will be shown on the top of the cupboars (fron distance, as plates on a table) - that is the main point.
p.s.
normal inventory is 24 slots.
when trade ppl usually calculate goods by chasts or inventories. But it is NOT a main point of the post.
Thanks ))

Futhermore, try a table. I'd rather have an item that opens 4x 8x8 'container inventories', than 1x 16x16. The reason is being able to separate it like that.
You ever try going Tradition and sacrificing for Numen?kralmir wrote:i have 35 inventory slots, so for comfort reasons i should get a 105 slots cupboard.

It is indeed very hard to memorize them unless you stick with a plan, but that can be a big pain, being able to identify cupboards separately would be nice.tampax911 wrote:I think that you miss the main point.

Re: Better Cupboards
The main error in your argumentation is: A Cupboard (8x8=64 slots) can hold 4 times the normal inventory (which is 4x4=16 slots).
My inventory size while writing this is 8x7=56 slots (so i can nearly pickup the contents of a cupboard in one go).
While bigger is usually better (when it comes to inventories) i think the cupboards are ok as-is in terms of capacity.
But i really like idea to be able to indicate the contents of the cupboard.
Ideal for lazy fucks as me would be if the cupboard automatically displays the top-3 items (in terms of amount of them in the cupboard), but having a small 'shelve' with 2-3 slots like in a table where i can put items to be displayed outside would nicely do it too.

Re: Better Cupboards
a single slot that displayed the contents of the slot on top of the cupboard would make things a lot easier to organize

Re: Better Cupboards
In case the top-left slot would be used to determine the display ontop of the cupboard i could live with it.sabinati wrote:a single slot that displayed the contents of the slot on top of the cupboard would make things a lot easier to organize

Re: Better Cupboards
Since it has a separate function I believe it's why OP mentioned to separate it, you could use shiftclick and the likes to easy take stuff from there as well, the same way a table works, you can shift+mousewheel in and out of both of them.
