Re: Spar not reducing durability
Already sugested, and denied.
Reasoning, if you spar with armor and real weapondry in real life, your armor is going to get damaged, you just don't plan on killing each other.

Re: Spar not reducing durability
Happy to hear it was rejected. It would be a silly thing to have in such a game.

Re: Spar not reducing durability
Kind of odd reasoning, since it's absolutely false. If you're actually sparing in the real world, you're certainly not swinging with any sort of intensity which would cause damage. It's more about the maneuvers, and the attacks are feinted. With such a complicated combat system, it's a bit brutal to also expect the people trying to learn it to blow their armor (or make extra sets) just to do so. It doesn't matter so much for those of us with access to metal, particularly bronze, but for those trading for it? Having to trade for a bunch of extra armor just so you can learn to use it makes it all the harder to get into melee.Jfloyd wrote:Already sugested, and denied.

Otherwise, make armor for sparring.
I'm sure all of this has been gone over though wherever it was originally suggested...

I am pretty sure nobody ever said that. Do you have a link or quote?Jfloyd wrote:Already sugested, and denied.

What about wooden swords with very low atk? Of course, it should be fixed and non-dependant of quality.

I'm with Zamte on this one and support the OP's request.Zamte wrote:Kind of odd reasoning, since it's absolutely false. Support, both from a gameplay and realism viewpoint. These hearthlings must have amazing coordination if they can land a blow so precise it pierces armor but stops just short of drawing blood.
