Just as the title says.
It's kind of a kick to the balls because it's dificult to find good HQ string other than straps.

Plant Fibres.
Also this was probably intended, who the hell rips up animal skin and uses it as fishing line? No one that's who, makes sense just like nettle.

Well, I'm industry based, so I can't really go around and grow nice hemp or flax. Wool takes months to get up to a decent quality, and needs good farming to feed them.DatOneGuy wrote:Plant Fibres.

Re: Straps not useable on fishing poles
This is true.
At the moment I'm not a hermit, I have a village....just no one in it
EDIT:
Back to the point.
Maybe a comprimise could be made?
I realize that the straps of hide would probably be very thick for a fishing rod, so make it possible to cut straps into thinner strips at a loss of %age of quality?

Re: Straps not useable on fishing poles
i'm not sure how i think about this issue, on the one hand, just use taproot since it's not like fish q is the straight average of equipment q anymore (i.e. the equipment average q is the softcap on the natural fish q). on the other hand i'd like more "wilderness-man" options, so realism be damned, there should be another option. (not that i'm necessarily advocating the use of a hide strap as a fishing line, but i guess it's conceivable that some kind of animal byproduct could be used)

Re: Straps not useable on fishing poles
i was thinking catgut but it seems like there's a fair bit of processing involved in that and i'm not sure either would actually make a decent fishing line (realism lol)

Re: Straps not useable on fishing poles
People have wanted intestines for string for a long time, no matter how stupid that is.
I don't see any byproducts of animals working too well. :/ What's wrong with taproot?
