Again. You aren't being forced to go full change or full tradition. People who go full change for higher LP rates know their risk and they willingly do it. People who go full tradition know they are losing a metric assload of LP doing so.

Don't like the odds stop complaining about it. Its one thing complaining about super-players but at least they accepted their risk and just got so stupidly far ahead that they are uncatchable or unkillable with the current mechanics in place.

But farming crops all day AKA kobnach shouldn't be rewarded or made comparable to the man that goes out and punches bears until they die. Just give him more safe crap to mess with and maybe he will shut up about risk suggestions, which we all mostly want with the exception of him or maybe another person.

I've died and lost more than you ever will on my alts, and I don't complain its just time to start again, analyze my mistakes and add in a step for the long-term plan, and make a new short-term plan.

I for one want to see bears finish the job and eat people, instead of just knock you down until you give up.

It makes sense because they are fucking bears, Why should they be forced to ko you while you can kill them. The most vicious animal ingame.

I dont know about implementation, but I agree there needs to be more risk in hunting the high end animals. But to go along with that there also needs to be more reward. Pathfinding is obviously a must before you start giving more rewards, but a level 10 animal should give more than just extra LP imho. Maybe some trophy items have a chance to drop which can be made into wearable which grant stats based on the level of the animal. Each animal could have a trophy item which goes into it's own slot, and wears out relatively quickly (combat or not) Ideally the item could be made into two different trophies, one which is useful to the hunter themself, and one which would be valuable to a civilized person (once stats actually affect civ stuff)

Idk, I am tired, and probably babbling, so discard if the above makes little sense.

As far as escaping from the aforementioned deadly animals, I suggest that animals be able to eat meat that's dropped on the ground. Throw that bloodthirsty fox a beef steak to eat instead of you, eh? Of course, for balance's sake, the animal would probably have to be fully healed from eating a piece of distracting food and would likely lose complete interest in any other foods if you attack it while it eats.

Just my two cents, anyways.

Excellent idea, Traps and lures as contingencies in case of being knocked out.

That would be a great escape mechanic, but you should add that throwing said animal the meat of its same species I.E. you try to distract a bear with bear meat would simply not work or even worse, enrage the animal?

Also, make it that only certain foods work on certain animals, if we ever got mushrooms for example, Truffles to be exact, dropping it in front of a fox wouldnt do much, but using it on a boar would certainly distract it long enough for you to GTFO.

Hehe. There's only one problem with this plan - players who think a spot of murder would brighten their day, and generally pick on the weakest people they can find, being essentially cowardly bullies. If risk taking is rewarded in extreme ways, peaceful farmers will be everyone's favourite targets - except of course for newbies. Net result - they get the risks and not the rewards. Oops.

Eh, with the amount of self-appointed sheriffs in this game, I don't think that would be too much of a problem.

Maybe so, but with each unjustice justiced, one sheriff's going to end up dead from the imminent rage of his victim's friends.
