Bugged village claim?

Post by DatOneGuy »

I'm having an issue with this village claim, everyone in it left the village. (Me, and my friend), I attempted to rejoin it (forgot to drain it's Authority to destroy it).

Now I cannot destroy it, cannot join it (Have enough to become Law Speaker and am not in any othervillage, it just won't work).

Is there anything I can do? I need to be able to break it or I can't finish my stuff, it also had around 75k LP so it would last way too long for me to wait it out.

In the past loftar would have had to make someone lawspeaker manually. however since you can destroy villages, i doubt he will. you have to wailt till it gets to 50k.

Considering it's 5k drain a day, and the only actual drain it had on it was me leaving (it defaults to like 125k Auth?) it has around 120k Authority, that means that basically everything around my silver mine is useless and I have no defence for it for the next 2 weeks?

Well, while this might not completely be a 'bug', this is a huge problem. I assumed I could re-enter with no one in the village, perhaps some sort of warning when you're the last person in the village (or a way to reclaim it if no one is in it?)

How, more precisely, are you attempting to join it?

With no one else in the village I figured this would work (No other way to get in since no one is there :S)

Well I've run into more problems than I can handle to wait for the 2 weeks on this, apparently no one I invite to help me can log back in on the village claim meaning they have to travel 2SG to help me build a wall since they also can't set their hearth here. Is there any way I can get myself put back into it to kill it, the authority reduced to 50k, or it removed? :X

I've already had a few people come cause problems over here with claims and if I move my claim out from the middle of this village I won't be able to access any of my things at all ._.

A little bump to bring this back to loftars attention.

Would it be possible to enable 'become lawspeaker' for anyone (= not village member) in case there are no more villagers left, no matter what authority?

I had always thought the way this worked was... if there were village members, and a lawspeaker, and it was under 50k, any village member could take lawspeaker. If it had no lawspeaker, any villager could become lawspeaker, and if it had no villagers at all, anybody, even somebody outside, could become lawspeaker.

However, this is not the case at all now. We were supposed to take over some abandoned towns nearby, and had to destroy the idol. We remade our own, then left with it walled in to come back later (we're limited on people). Even with no authority, the claim totally unworking, all items interactable, etc etc, nobody can become LS. There are no villagers, as it was a brand new idol the only person who had been in it was me, and my friend I invited to hold it. We've both left.

This seems... pointless. I can understand preventing outsiders from joining in cases where there are villagers to take over for the town. It makes no sense though to continue this restriction if there are no village members who could take lawspeaker, and only results in forcing people to destroy village claims in order to reclaim the town.

Yea. Loftar, please fix this.

I'll fix this, but I see two alternatives, and I don't really know which way to go.

On the one hand, I could make it so that anyone can become lawspeaker when the village has no members left (which is being requested). One disadvantage, however, is that there could be some single inactive villager left disabling the village from becoming re-owned.

On the other hand, I could make it so that anyone can become lawspeaker whenever the village has no lawspeaker, quite simply. It would prevent the situation of the single inactive villager, and it would also allow for actual hostile take-over of a village (by either killing the lawspeaker or forcing him to resign the position), which might be fun. I'm just a bit worried that there's no way left for the villagers to take revenge.

I'm inclined to take the latter way, unless you protest.
