For sake of realism, it would be like this:
- Plowed tiles stay if under crops
- Harvesting removes plowed tiles
- Re-plow to plant again

Re: Plowed tiles stay if under crops
Metal plows are also pretty much the only constant hard metal resource sink, they're also optional.
Unless you want cast to be like gold/silver pre-symbel it's a terrible idea unless harvesting unplows the land

+1 if they add additional metal sink items like previous suggested items like: big ovens, metal water pumps (to be an advanced well), advanced millstones, metal arrows that do more damage and etc.

I didn't say shit about metal ANYTHING. You plow the tile, plant something, and the plowed tile doesn't get to disappear ever until the crop is harvested. Period. You're asking for a fucking metal availability derail, so fucking stop it.multiple wrote:Metal
This is assumed to be done when the player harvests the tile. Including maintaining the plowed status of the tile. That's why i suggested a stamina drain increase on harvesting, to represent the "maintence" of the plowed status.erozaxx wrote:IRL farming comments.

Re: Plowed tiles stay if under crops
Bad idea, bad answer.
Not having to re-plow after harvesting means not having to plow, means not having to use metal to plow.
Having to re-plow after harvesting just makes things look better and is stupid.
However, my answer was specific to the other part, removing the stamina from plowing, that's what I pointed out...
It's pointless and not thought out thoroughly...

Bad idea? Don't fucking post in the fucking thread and let the thread die in peace, instead of responding and incurring the wrath of the OP for your shitty comment.DatOneGuy wrote:Bad idea, bad answer.
People will use metal when and where they want to. Metal plows are a matter of choice, as is their use. Someone could very well use a wooden plow to fix the single tiles that revert to unplowed. The player will still be lifting that plow up and down all over their fucking field so they can replant, wether its metal or wooden, and that's what i suggested to stop; needless and fucking UNFUN actions. Not having to re-plow after harvesting means not having to plow, means not having to use metal to plow.
What?Having to re-plow after harvesting just makes things look better and is stupid.

And the only other time i talked about stamina after that was hand-plowing and how it feels like it was poorly thought out; it drains stamina as it's used instead of after it's finished, which means if you miss-click, you've lost stamina for nothing. The cost will still be the same, it'll just come once you get the tile plowed instead of during the wait.Machenoid wrote:Increase the stamina cost of harvesting to "compensate" for not having to plow the tile again if it'd be considered necessary.

Who uses a plough to fix holes in fields? Shovel gets you enough hunger to eat most of the food from that farming in a feast.

You are using realism arguments, I'm only saying what "total realism" would be. I think the issue is fine as it is, plowed tiles not staying if under crops aren't a big problem in my opinion.Machenoid wrote:Have you ever seen a patch of farm land turn into grass? No, because the crops block the sunlight and growth of other plants beneath them
