How long until the next world?
I'm curious, how long until World 4.

Re: New World
Nobody knows, probably not even the devs. Not until a new lp system and probably mapgenerator and combat system as well. Just be patient...

Re: New World
Do you guys actually like the whole 'Wipe existence' method of keeping the world clean? I wish there was a better way to equalize everything that just isn't a reset. I suppose that could be impossible due to our limited terraforming abilities. Nobody wants more a more brutal decay rate.

Re: New World
Its not about levelling the field, it's about adding new features that require a world reset.

Re: New World
World 2 had quality (atleast for the last month, can't say for any longer as I wasn't there).melzar wrote:what potjeh said, in world 2 there wasnt even a quality system, among other things

Re: New World
There was no quality system in world one. That aside I have been asking myself the same question as atherman if this game once reaches its final stage. From what I heard of jorb recently they consider to still reset the world on a regular base then.

Re: New World
I love when noobs flap their mouths while being completely fucking clueless. The "improvements" world 3 brought were nerf in hunting lp, resources that lose quality the more you use them, a few new trees all of them useless and combat system nobody really loves oh yeah and a promise for a village management system. All in all it was a kinda forced premature reset.melzar wrote:what potjeh said, in world 2 there wasnt even a quality system, among other things

Re: New World
I think one more reason for the reset was that we still had loads of bugged stuff in wayneville which had spreaded all over the world. So seeing what could be achieved without bugged coal/water might have been an argument for a reset too.

Re: New World
You don't think the single biggest reason for resets isn't diminishing availability of controllable resources? I think restarting the world is a cop-out premature way to deal with resource locations being occupied, but it's still a way to deal with it. Adding super grids is another but it just adds up to more and more mines being walled off and going inactive.
I just hate the idea of knowing everything I do is eventually going to vanish and is only temporary. Not because I'm going to stop taking care of it, but because the world is going to get reset.
If some basic regeneration was added to the world, I'm sure resets could be a lot more rare. Say, something like trees growing back. HM.
As for metal? I think too many mines are not being used and are just sitting around walled while there are plenty of people that would love to have one. I think the location of every dug mine in the world should be make public in some in-game mechanic/map and village activity information for those mines too.
So say, if you have a mine, everyone looking at some world map knows that your mine is there and knows if your village has authority.(Or if it even has an idol) That way unused mines (And yes, there are mines out there that are dug up but not even walled) can be taken over by prospective villages. People will definitely go after inactive mines first, and if EVERY mine goes active (Which will probably never happen) actual competition for mines can begin. Make those mines have unlimited ore and implement some more siege options and you've got the makings of a permanent world map.
