It's impressive how ledges didn't get in the way of Sodom's perfect layout.

Seems like no one has moved into my old place, according to that map. (One left of eastern pumpkinsade.)
Used to have pumpkinsade around there, I guess someone really felt like harvesting. >.<

wow, very impressive image as always , well done Warri.
what program do you use to make those kind of maps? some sort of planning tool or? i have really been looking for some sort of planning program to make some plans and sketches of a layout, but its hard to find something suitable for H&H that doesnt cost a fortune.

If you were at least somewhat useful and contributing instead of consuming nothing would be in your way too.Atherman wrote:It's impressive how ledges didn't get in the way of Sodom's perfect layout.

I started with paint because I have a slow pc and photoshop doesnt run smoothly. But it started to be inaccurate as you can see in the picture so i switched to photoshop cs 4. However its possible with paint only.

Invitations to Sodom are made through recommandations of members only. Usually only people who can at least read posts right above them in a forum are recommended. This also answers your second question.

Re: BEST VILLAGE!!! BEAT THAT IF YOU CAN!!!
I've been thinking about the boringness of the square grid design, and here's what I came up with:
I think that the sketch is self-explanatory, but ask if there's anything unclear.
Anyway, I figure that things can be spiced up a bit by moving some of the personal plots a bit off the square grid. The plots no longer tessellate, but the extra space between them can be used for public trees and decorative flowerbeds. Since these don't have to be claimed, curved lines can be used for aesthetic purposes. If need arises, though, a fair deal of the tree area can be claimed. Authority objects would look well on intersections, but I'm not sure if they can fit there efficiently.
The inner wall is optional, but I'd keep it since it adds an extra bit of security and saves some iron on the walls of the inner personal plots (build whole wall, then punch a hole with a ram for a gate). Crossroads for getting outside of it, idol port for getting inside. I guess you could also keep the gates open if you're feeling extra safe. Majority of personal walls can be extended from village walls, but 8 of them have to be started from scratch. Such is the prize of beauty, I guess. Note that trees are never next to outer walls, to give a better view of the outside in case you're not using the client with transparency.
With 24 personal plots, this is a medium village. The size is roughly the same as Sodom, but it's a bit less efficient. I still think it's efficient enough, though, and it looks better.

Re: BEST VILLAGE!!! BEAT THAT IF YOU CAN!!!
If you wanna build something like that... give me a map of a region so I will try to make real scetch of that, with real size...
Map is better to give me ingame did with inkweed, because I work with other formats. You have my contact ingame.
First of all I will look how to put it on real landscape... To prevent problems with it... Later There will be add a banner schematic... or statue... to give 100% coverage and 100% design.
